I feel that in order to bloom, we need idols: admirable, progressive people that reveal themselves to us. Finding a new somebody to be fascinated about always makes me happy. Lately it has been Agnès Varda, French New Wave (Nouvelle Vague) pioneer and feminist filmmaker. I fell in love with this film, Faces Places, that she stars with my longtime favorite JR. I can't get over of their way of focusing on other people, (including each other) in the middle of the contemporary selfieculture. There is something really beautiful in their whole way of seeing the world. "This is like a portrait party", Agnès says at some point. Next one on my list is the documentary on her, Varda by Agnès. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n37iq8cCDH0
